The Wild Things

A close Nigerian friend of mine who lives in Denmark was telling a friend of hers about E's cool room so she asked me to send pics. Aha, that made today's blog pictures an easy project! Two of the walls in his room are covered with this mural from Where the Wild Things Are. I helped our old neighbor with this project a few months after we moved here.

Saturday, April 28th

Two of my 3 Day Walk teammates came over to make handmade thank you cards to send to people who donate to our 3 Day team. Lots-o-pink!!

Mama's night out on the town...

I went out for a fun evening with some friends from the neighborhood...

One of my friends' brother is the #1 fan for this band B Side Players in San Diego (home base for the band). Since they were coming to Seattle we had to go check them out and we were not disappointed. They have a really awesome mix of Latin and Reggae, really excellent music. Our only complaint was that they didn't start playing til 11pm! We're too old for such late nights like that... But it was worth the wait for sure.

Thursday, April 26

With E in t-ball, AT has been going out more often with the kids to play catch. A is actually getting really quite good at throwing and catching!! I guess now we'll need to sign her up for t-ball/baseball...

Da Boys

E hanging out with his buddies, E-Dawg and K-Dawg (as their mom affectionately calls them :). E has been digging the mohawk, or "fauxhawk", look lately.

More t-ball

E had a bit of a fan club at his t-ball game! Thankfully it quit sprinkling about one minute after this picture.

I love this picture of Coach Judy giving E a little reminder push to run to 2nd.

E was so excited, he got to spend an inning as the first baseman which meant he got to handle the ball every single time! The kids are taught to throw the ball to first base every time and then the first base kid throws to the catcher.

I facilitated the order for some new playground equipment for our development and the shipment finally arrived! My girlfriend was "man" enough to help the delivery guy, they didn't need my help so I documented the occasion and cheered them on.

2 1/2 years old + a warm(ish) spring day = time to potty train!! (no, this isn't my kid! He's one of my "nephews" in the neighborhood... I finished this whole potty training business with my kids 2 1/2 years ago :)

10 Miles!!

We did our second 10 mile walk today (training for the 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk). Woo hoo!!

What is it about sleeping children?

One of my very most absolutely totally favourite times of the day is going in to give one last goodnight kiss to the kids... E often falls asleep "reading" one of daddy's computer magazines with pictures of Star Wars characters or Wii stuff.

Friday, April 20

AT & I got a pair of adult skate shoes/wheelies/heelies (yes, my feet are big enough/his are small enough that we can share a pair of shoes!!). They are a riot and I definitely haven't mastered how to skate in them yet. It's entertainment watching me try, though...

AT came out to take photos of our 3 Day Walk team. Like he often does--he slipped on the first pair of shoes he saw. As mentioned above, we have similar sized feet so, um, yeah. Hopefully this picture is clear enough to see that he's wearing some of my sandals that have quite the height on them. Like he needs to be any taller!

E's first t-ball game.

Taking it all the way home!

Wednesday, April 18, 2007

I'm posting this picture for the sake of memories because massive monitors like this will soon be a thing of the distant past. We handed this one down to the kids several years ago and even they don't use it anymore so I just posted it on Craigslist for $20...

Herds For Hire

This picture isn't big enough for you to see the details--but here's E and a buddy from school checking out the goats "mowing" a park near us. The goats will be there for about a week, nothing like good old fashioned "technology"!!

April 12

E's t-ball debut! He started today on The Raptors, he was in absolute heaven at his first practice, it was very very adorable. Total boy-hood rite of passage. He said that real baseball is harder than Wii baseball, but it seems that all his Wii baseball playing has helped with his hand/eye coordination and he really did a good job of hitting the ball off that T...

Hoola hoop fun with cute little Lauren

A's bike was way too big for her last summer, but now she's off on her big two wheeler bike and loving it. Lauren wanted to be a big girl too!
